Three teenage girls in Houston have been accused of conspiring to kill their mother. The alleged source of their rage? Their mom turned off the Wi-Fi.

The siblings, ages 14, 15, and 16, were arrested on Monday on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Authorities responded to a disturbance in the 3400 block of Barkers Crossing Avenue overnight and found a woman assaulted by her three children, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a post on X.

Because their mother turned off the Wi-Fi, the teenagers allegedly chased her around the house and into the street with kitchen knives and struck her with a brick, Gonzalez said. The children’s grandmother was also knocked over while trying to protect the mother. Gonzalez said neither woman was seriously injured.

“The three siblings allegedly coordinated a plan to try and kill the mother,” he wrote. “Because the mother turned-off the wi-fi, all three grabbed kitchen knives and chased her throughout the house and into the street, attempting to stab her.”

All three children were were booked into the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center on Monday, Gonzalez said.
