‘I Was Doing Witchcraft:’ Fort Worth Man Performed An Exorcism to Murder His Mom, Police Say
A Fort Worth man is accused of killing his mother after police found a woman covered in blood and holding a Bible. When Fort Worth police arrived on the scene, the man told them it was “an exorcism,” according to his arrest warrant obtained by CBS News Texas.
The accused, Alexander Taylor Valdez, allegedly murdered his mother Teresita Sayson early Friday morning, according to a report The Barbed Wire acquired to confirm the details of the crime. Law enforcement went to their residence around the Willow Wood neighborhood following a tip from an anonymous caller, who claimed that they received a photo in a Snapchat group of a woman spattered with what seemed like blood, according to the warrant.
Police said Valdez used a blunt force object to hit his mother repeatedly, causing trauma to her face and upper body. Officers later located a broken jewelry box with blood, a piece of hair consistent with Sayson’s, and a dead dog in the master bedroom where she was found, according to the outlet.
When questioned, Valdez allegedly said, "I was doing witchcraft to kill my mom” and told police that, "There is a dead body in there, it's my mom."
At the police homicide office, Valdez refused to answer questions and requested an attorney. According to Tarrant County Jail records, his bond is set at $750,000.
